Flat Fork Farm
Flat Fork Farm
Flat Fork Farm is my dream come true. The farm was re-established by Josh and Camille Cooper in January 2007. This farm has been in the Cooper family since the 1940’s, it started then as nothing but forested land. Over many long hard years the family clear the land and engaged in many agricultural practices on it. Since the early 90’s the farm was mostly abandoned except for hay production and occasionally used for grazing horses. Today we are in the process of rebuilding it into a productive farm again. We’ve started by cleaning up brush and repairing fences where we can. We’ve also created two gardens, one large and one small, which has provided much of our food for the last year. We’ve also started adding fruit tree’s, grapes, and berry vines. The farm wouldn’t be complete with out some livestock. It is currently home to a very productive of flock Rhode Island Red chickens, two geese, two donkeys, one goat, one dog and a few cats.
2008 marks our second year on the farm and hope that we can get even more done this year to get the farm up to a productive operation.
